In sports arbitrage (also called sure bets or miracle bets) we look for deviating predictions / odds at non GamStop bookmakers. By then betting intelligently on all possible outcomes, we can achieve a guaranteed profit, regardless of the outcome of the match.

Arbitrage betting is a sure bet betting tactic that not all sports bettors have mastered, but that everyone should be aware of. It may sound a bit complicated at first glance, but once you get the hang of it, it is quite simple and these safe bets can give you a guaranteed profit.

In this post I will tell you about the basic principles of sports arbitrage and teach you how you can be 100% sure that you will win with risk-free sure betting.

What Is Arbitrage Betting?

Arbitrage betting is a strategy that has its origins in the stock market. Investing in Arbitrage is an investment strategy where an investor trades shares on different markets for immediate returns, by taking advantage of a price difference or exchange rate. Arbitrage betting is a strategy developed on the principles of this way of trading: we bet on all the different outcomes of a bet and take advantage of the difference in the odds offered by different non GamStop bookmakers to guarantee a profit. Don't forget about risk management in sports betting – there are always risks associated with betting.

How Can I Place a Sure Bet?

In arbitrage betting we look for a sporting event where two outcomes are possible and where we can find a significant difference in the odds presented by different non GamStop bookmakers, making the total odds less than 99.9%.

2-Way Arbitrage Bet

As an example, we will take a head to head bet between Hamilton and Verstappen, as Formula 1 bets are ideal for sports arbitrage. At bet365 this bet is offered at odds 1.95 for Hamilton and 2.01 for Verstappen, while Unibet offers the same bet at odds 1.80 for Hamilton and 2.15 for Verstappen. Here we can clearly see that we have spotted value for an occupational health and safety bet.

Suppose we bet €100 on Hamilton at bet365 at odds 1.95 and €90 on Verstappen at Unibet at odds 2.15. It doesn't matter which driver will cross the finish line first, we won money anyway. The total amount we bet is €190. If Hamilton wins, we receive €195 and if Verstappen wins, we receive €193.50, so we have won at least €3.50 with this bet. Sure bets do exist!

3-Way arbitrage bet

It is of course also possible to place arbitrage bets on a bet where three different outcomes are possible, such as 1X2 on football. However, these are more difficult to find and slightly more difficult to calculate.

Example: You want to bet on the Premiere League 2023/2024. New Castle is playing against Wolves and you have found the following odds online at various bookmakers: 2.92 for New Castle, 3.37 for Wolves and 3.08 for a draw. If we bet €100 on New Castle, €85 on Wolves and €95 on a draw, we will have won at least €6.45.

The total stake of this arbitrage bet is €280 and the minimum profit we achieve, in the event that Wolves wins the match, is €286.45.

Advantages of Arbitrage Betting

The biggest advantage of arbitrage betting in 2024 is of course the fact that the chance of losing money is eliminated. Making guaranteed money with sports betting is of course every bettor's dream and sure bets make this possible.

In addition, you no longer have to keep up to date with the form and performance of the different teams and players, which can take up a lot of time. Of course that is fine if it is a hobby of yours, but if you are going to bet to win and especially in the case of health and safety betting, then your time is important. With sports arbitrage you only have to pay attention to the bookmakers' odds to calculate your chances.

Finally, the rapidly growing popularity of online sports betting brings advantages for sports arbitrage. Now that more and more non GamStop bookmakers are popping up, the chance that you will find arbitrage is increasing.
